You're in the right place though. There are plenty of other illiterate

More difficult than they have already made it for themselves post E3? I
honestly don't think MS need to do a damn thing. The 360 is
competitively priced if the proposed prices are anything to go by.
Developers are stating that there aint a lot of difference between the
two consoles so why should MS reduce to price.

One year on the best you can hope for is improved parts and less heat /
noise. (as an aside we'll never see improved performance as this would
be a very bad move essentially making public confidence in the product
zero).

Who says they are heat related? I don't think anyone much less MS have
actually said this! It's all speculation. If MS came out today and said
"there is a problem with 360's due to overheating" Sony would be
jumping for glee.

That's a fair point. However it never helped me with my PS2, I had 3 of
the buggers in all.

WHo knows. As far as I can tell, he's just another mindless cock, on a
seemingly endless list of mindless cocks.

He seems to have many things that ring his bell. Some of these things
seem to stem from some sort of mistaken belief that there are "cliques"
in operation on the group, just because some individuals try and provide
guidance to others in an attempt to avoid the groups turning into the
cesspit that this one has truned into.

However, that is just one of the things that he seems to get his arse in
his hand about. As far as I see it, he is not going to run short of
paranoid fantasies and delusional behaviour as a guiding force in his
life, in the forseeable future.

I don't see the point in waiting, the X360 isn't going to get a lot
more reliable, since it's really not that unreliable to begin with. I
think the actual figures are something around 3 percent defect rate.
I'm sure the actual rate is higher since some defects aren't reported
but the bottom line is you have a very good chance of not having any
problems as long as you don't move it from horizontal to vertical while
a game is running and keep it in a well ventilated location. If you're
worried, just buy the warranty. It's about the cost of one game.

There's been quite a few failures reported in the ugv* groups and I
personally know people outside of the groups that have run into problems
too. I do not recall this being the case on release with the original
Xbox and I don't know anyone at all that's had a failed Gamecube for
example.

I know that's what MS have been saying, and I don't want to seem
paranoid, but who has verified that figure ?

I read an article only a month or so back, that said MS had been having
trouble with yields on some particular component or other. A suspicious
mind might question if the quality control was "relaxed" ever so
slightly for the initial release, in an attempt to make the supply
problems very slightly better.
