In college, my grades ranged from A to D (well, D-, but same difference
once you get down that low). The D really should have been an F, but the
college I attended had a rule that if you flunked a course, you could
take it again, so by raising my grade the professor ensured that I
couldn't come back.

Well, it doesn't seem likely to be bra sizes, battery sizes (single
A is obsolete), or the lettered avenues in Manhattan.

Hmm, by chance I just looked up Lucy's relatives the other day, and
I still don't remember.
> Which province, directly east of Alaska, did Canada acquire from the

There is no correct answer. The only province directly east of Alaska
is BRITISH COLUMBIA, which is two words and was a separate British
colony that joined Canada in 1871. Today the YUKON is directly east
of Alaska, and it's part of the land acquired from the Hudson Bay
Company in 1870, but it is not a province and it did not exist at
all until, I think, 1898. The land was then part of the NORTH-WEST
TERRITORIES, which was two words and a hyphen, and not a province.
> What sports announcer is famous for his "Let's get ready to rumble!"

I don't know. The only non-Canadian announcer I can think of is Howard
COSELL, and I doubt he'd've said that.
Okay, if Cosell is wrong, the FOURTH letter upward would make a word,
and D is the fourth letter... oh, is this about musical intervals,
like thirds and fifths? I forget how exactly those work. That'll
do, anyway.

Hard to say which province you mean. Seven of the Canadian provinces are
directly east of AK and six or seven (don't know about Labrador) of
those have land which was formerly owned by Hudson Bay. There's also the
three territories which were also owned by the Bay. They aren't
provinces, of course, but Americans sometimes don't appreciate the
distinction.
Now if 'directly' is meant to mean 'immediately', that narrows the
possibilities to BC and Yukon. BC is eliminated by it's being a two-word
name and the Yukon is a territory.
So let's see if the quilt helps resolve this question.

Quilt is probably FOURTH, fourth letter up. Which means Yukon is correct
answer to #5 and Cosell is wrong for #6. I watch a fair amount of sports
on TV, but can't think of any announcer who uses that catchphrase. No
doubt I watch the wrong kinds of sports (sounds like a boxing/wrestling
type thing, and I don't care for those sports).

Quilt = FOURTH (4th column upward). I'm not sure what the reference
is, but what else? (Oh, never mind, it's a musical chord.) |

I know Canadian geography well enough to know that there is only one
province *directly* east of Alaska, and that's British Columbia, which
is two words and ineligible to be an answer. YUKON is also directly
east of Alaska, but that's a territory, not a province. Unless you are
using the word "directly" in an unusual way, I don't think there's a
valid answer to this question. (All of the other provinces of Canada
are east of Alaska as well, but none of the others borders Alaska.)

It's Michael something. I'm going to say BELLER because that's the
name that comes to mind, but I don't think that's his exact name.
No guess for the quilt.
