I thought one of the requirements on purchasing the keys was being
level 70, guess I was wrong about that. Perhaps it might be a good
idea for them to go back and put some level requirements on the keys.

So yes, more of a suggestion than a requirement here.

It is the 2.3 patch indeed. But I suspect you are trying to walk into
the heroic instance solely because you are honoured with the relevant
faction, and that won't work! Go visit the relevant quartermaster, and
he will sell you the heroic key provided you are honoured with his
faction. Once you have the key, you can enter the heroic dungeon.

I gotta agree here. I'm not a fan of the "nanny state" type approach
where Blizzard forces you through the dungeons lots of times hoping
you'll learn stuff, but for heroics, you need to have a) decent gear,
b) a good understanding of your class, and c) VERY good knowledge of
the dungeon you're going to run.

About the only thing that this change truly does help are alts -
people who have already done all the keys on 1 or more chars and
simply don't have the time to earn them again on another char. If
they have decent gear, they already know the dungeons, and should be
fine. If you're completely new to heroics though, and think that the
jump from revered to honored now means you can do more 'leet stuff,
then you're just disillusioned.

I personally think that a better idea would be to tie attunements and
keys to the account, rather than the toon. Once the account has a key
to a heroic, then all toons can do it. Once an account is attuned to
Kara, all toons on it can run it.

ya. i was sure if it was revered or exalted. i know im already honored. im a
70 warlock. (look me up joeyjoe). i know i have to buy the key. the only one
im keyed for is CoT which im sure everyone and there mother is.

Agreed, I think it would be a good idea! Seemed to be no requirement when I
bought my key, I was expecting to get told I couldn't enter the instance
but I went into Slave Pens heroic and saw lvl 70 mobs running around, so it
was definitely heroic

This is not entirely true... I was 69 with my priest when I entered an
Heroic (Just too check it out if it was true that before 70 you can't get
in)...

One thing I DO have to say, my WoW crashed shortly after, so perhaps it was
a bug... bu I was definitely in Heroic (I visited Ramparts.. so that's why I
know for sure)..
