Hi,
If I don't want ReplayTV 5500 to record live when I turn off my TV but I
want the 5500 to update the channel guide and record the programs I
specified, how do I put the ReplayTV in standby? Just turn it off via
the remote?

When it is off, it just doesn't continue to record live television. It will
still download guide updates when required.
5500 Channel Change Delay? - Hi, I am using the 5500 with my cable box via IR Blaster. When I change channels, the 5500 will blank the screen and show the channel info for the one I am changing to. But before it changes the channel, it briefly shows again the current cable..
Can the 5500 series record any of its buffer contents? - This is the one feature that is keeping me from switching from Tivo. If the answer is no, I hope their next series (whenever that's out) has this basic capability. Thanks!
