I find the mere thought of doing this quite unsettling.

I'd like to see what you think of it when it comes. I think we'll be
picking one up.

One thing I'd like to do is have a Win98 install on a bootable SD card
for old school PC gaming. Seems like it'd make a very decent show of
non-3d-accelerated games. The Xandros install is, by all accounts, very
nice although I'd be tempted to try Ubuntu out simply to get apt-get
working.

Apart from the board being customized all to hell, I've been reading that
the chipset and the graphics card are run-of-the-mill standard parts. But
I'm not sure if Windows 98 is the best idea, given that the keyboard and
mouse run off the internal USB hub. But your plan is otherwise sound, as
the BIOS allows you to boot from pretty much any storage that you can
figure out how to connect.

I'm checking out 2000 Professional and XP shrunk down with N-lite as
possible gaming OS choices. I'm also holding out for the version with the
8 gig drive, given that the flash RAM is soldered diretly to the
motherboard and not installed on a separate IDE-connected board. There's
also an unconfirmed rumor that the cancelled model with the ten-inch
screen is going to be resurrected as a standard Asus product outside of
the Eee brand.

-KKC, whose credit limit has been extended. This bodes not well for my
ability to get out of debt...

Disregard this rule if the meat in the nuggets is not actually chicken.

My local Gamestation (Cwmbran) sells them for £40 pre-owned, which
seemed very reasonable to me. I've only seen them out on display twice
(second time of which I bought it) but they said they do usually have
some out the back.

It even had the bundled PGR3 with it, which I assumed would be missing
at that price.

That's only important if you're Batman. Are you Batman? Hm? Are ya?

-KKC, who saw a recent episode of Smallville and wonders where all the
extra characters came from. And why.

I think I'm nearing the end now, and I don't know if it's really any
trickier than it was near the start to be honest (if anything I
thought that was harder). But I've certainly made good use of the
ability to save at any time. Smile

I think, on the PC, you could only save at the beginning of each level.
That was what made it so hard!

Indeed. I thought it was never going to end. I got a little frustrated
trying to get to some of the bomb planting positions, only to kick
myself after upon discovering the *really* obvious routes I needed to
take after extended periods of under-my-breath swearing and head
scratching. Level three seems to have gone back to straight-forward
shoot 'em in the face stuff which is much more gratifying.

Yeah, cheers. I've been doing that and I haven't missed it at all.
