Hi guys,
Can you tell me if it's worth exchanging a standard composite cable
for SCART in PS2? Also, do you have any particular brands of cable in
mind (I was searching the net, but hard to find any concrete info, I'm
guessing official Sony PS2 SCART cable would be best bet)?
Thanks,
Radek |

any rgb scart cable will be better than composite.
PS2 composite output is pretty awful tbh. |

OK, thanks. I forgot to mention that I have pretty old TV set by
Goodmans, I'm estimating that it was made somewhere around early 90's
(and it's mono as well, there's only one socket for audio next to the
yellow one...), so I'm not sure if it supports RGB through its SCART
socket. But I guess if the cables are cheap I can always try Thanks
anyway |

Assuming that you have it plugged into an RGB capable scart socket.
On many TVs only the first scart has RGB and the others are just composite.

I haven't found it THAT big a deal...
I mean the picture surely is better/sharper in some games through
RGB-SCART cable (i.e. Soul Calibur 3), but the difference is negligible
in other games (e.g. San Adreas).
The 60Hz option in some games helps a lot though.
Also bear in mind that you'll l need to switch to the standard
composite, if you ever want to watch DVD video on your PS2, as the
RGB-SCART outputs a green picture.
