Mark,
FYI, I originally had a problem. The Adobe plug-in for my browser (Firefox)
would not open the file. I had to disable the plug-in, and set an
association for .pdf files to Adobe Reader to open the file externally to my
browser. (I suppose I could instead have downloaded the file, and opened it
locally.)

I decline your most generous offer. I don't save any of this locally,
I just type it into google groups and hit send. no great loss in the
grand scheme of things.

No one answered this. Perhaps you don't read others' answers all the way
to the end (understandable, sometimes I don't either). Or maybe no one
knows it.
The answer is Gene Conley, who was on three Boston Celtics championship
teams and pitched for the Boston/Milwaukee Braves. The Braves won the
World Series in 1957.
