So my wife decided that she wanted to roll up an alt on what seems to be
the only routinely busy server, and I rolled one with her and our
scrapper/healer pair there is now a mighty level 6.
We are, however, quite unused to slumming as orphans after four-plus
years of building assets on Victory.
Anyone with a kindly higher alt on Freedom who could dispense some inf?
Not a lot, just enough to get two alts through the starving hero phase.
Happy to repay it in multiple on Victory...
By the way, I did something I always wanted to do: run a squeaky-new
level 1, without a single XP point, all the way to Portal Court. I did
it with my new alt and got all the way from Galaxy -> Steel -> Talos ->
PI -> Portal Court without a single defeat, XP point, enhancement or
cheat (like using base portals, Hide, etc.)
I took a screenshot of my "level 0" healer ("I B MediBot") there but my
stupid complex display system recorded an older buffer... and I'd run up
to level 3 or so by the time I found out. Not really all that hard but
it was fun.
As for Freedom, I note it seems to be kind of the idiot gamer server,
and the noobish blah-blah-blah almost drove me crazy in every zone,
including PI. Endless whines to pay for farm team slots and all the PL
stuff that I completely despise. Oh, well, nice to see a crowd here and
there again.
How long before at least phase 1 of server combine, ya think?

I hardly ever post in this newsgroup but I've read it for quite a
while. I only have villains on Freedumb so if yall decide to try red
side I can help yall out with enough to get you up to SO's. Ive found
that when restarting on another server the first character hits the
bump around level 22 when you cant afford the SO upgrade. Depending on
how fast you level it tends to take care of itself around 30 or so.

I wouldnt mind making a hero there but i only have 2 slots left and I
want to make a shield brute and a pain corr. (yes...ive bought enough
extra slots that i would need a new account to get more) |

Why Freedom?
Never thought you were much for pvp and that seems to be what Freedom
is, the unofficial PVP server.
Personally I migrated to Virtue some time back, and it's pretty well
populated, if not as much as Freedom. Even though I don't RP other
than creating a backstory, it's a nicer crowd I find.
Oh, by level 10 you should be well out of the starving hero phase, just
by selling the salvage you get - at least that's how it's worked out for
me on all the alts I've made on Virtue.
Although, my latest alt did get lucky twice - entered a CC and didn't
win, but another contestant gave me 250k cause she really liked my
costume, then a random someone handed me a Christmas present they must
have been carrying for almost a year, it gave me the 30 day Holiday
Rocket Pack.
I'd forgotten just how fun Martial Arts is, even with the revised
timings, and jumpkick is actually a decent attack now that the backflip
at the end is suppressed if another attack is queued.
I'm really looking forward to losing my end woes at 20, later on
willpower than on regen, but at least I won't have a green star in my
chest.

Freedom isnt a PVP only server. If anything, Virtue is WAY MORE
roleplay than Freedom is PVP. I tried to level on Virtue and I couldnt
see what was going on in a mission because of all the constant,
mindless roleplay chat. Those people need to just get a chatroom or
IRC channel because games like this require teamwork.....and not
everyone on the team is going to wait around 20 minutes for every
pull. Maybe youve had better luck but I got to 12 and got disgusted
with it and relocated to Freedom with no problem. Yeah, Freedom has
its share of idiots but some are just new to the game and its
refreshing sometimes (and frustrating at others) to help newcomers to
the game. I used to hate Freedom but its great to be able to get a
team at most hours of the day.
Then again, I dont know what its like hero side.....im evil |

Yes, salvage and recipes have definitely spread the wealth. We may get
by with no inf transfer but I'm really spoiled by not having to budget
for the first full DO and SO slottings.

It is? I hadn't yet noticed. I just took JK on my new healer instead of
Hover, and the sight of a 7-foot bulky bot doing the ballerina number is
so stupid I will have to get rid of it in the first respec. 
Only my second alt with JK, I think, so I'm a bit bemused at the longggg
animation. Nice to know it shortens for another attack.

Be a bit of a problem for those of us with characters on multiple
servers but using some of the same names.

That's what I meant - just salvage sales alone is enough to pay for DOs
and SOs.
I just hit 17 and reslotted with level 20 DOs and I still have 630k inf,
which will be more than enough to buy SOs at 22.
Even counting the 250k I was given, I still had 800k at level 16.
It's one of the best things about the whole crafting thing, no more
ultra poorness.

Heh, my first character to use it was magmoid, a stone tanker - it looks
even more bizarre when you have rooted running.

I tested on an old alt to see if it was and was surprised to see it
shorter, and thought it had just been shortened.
Later when JK was the killing blow I noticed the backflip was still
there when you weren't doing anything.

Just give Spectrum a holler. Not only will I give you some inf I'll
give you full base access. I am back online, thanks mainly to the
lure of finally being able to build a raid-worthy base. |
