It was definitely a day for being very careful. Taking the right
actions to ensure that all of the Black Hand toys got the Black Hand
vampires untapped at the end of every turn was critical.
The No Secrets from Uchenna/Ugadja was one of the decks I feared most.
Unfoturnately it was my prey the first game. Saul Meira burned to
entomb Ugadja who had No Secrets / Raven Spy / Elephant Guardian /
Guardian Angel. Saul had earlier entombed Uchenna and gone to torpor
for it. Ermenegildo diablerized Uchenna with the blessing of the
Brujah voters, when the Brujah voters were down to about 4 pool with
Reginald in torpor and Dragonbound in play. Dragonbound came into
play around turn 3.
The weenie camera phone backstep concealed flash grenade would also
have done me in quite well had it happened to ever be my predator. I
would have had no concern if it had been my prey.
The Cry Wolf Khazar's Diary deck is very scary if given time to set
up. Fortunately I didn't sit at a table with it on that day, because
I also need some time to set up.
>Why on earth did the DomC Sela rush-deck merge Sela?
No clue. He didn't actually get it accomplished during my one game
with him. He started with Miguel Santo Domingo and brought out Sela
last. He seemed to have fallen in love with mayhem and Death of My
Conscience. He seemed to be playing more to create mayhem than to
win. He put all three of his predator's vampires in torpor and
cross-table rushed a War Ghoul (and killed it). He rushed my bishop
(Andrew Emory and put him on one blood) and tried to Horseshoe Appius
Claudius Corvus. During this time, he hadn't taken a single action
against his prey, who brought out 4 dominate minions (and eventually
contested Andrew Emory with me). It was very unusual that his prey
didn't sweep the entire table while he was enjoying the combat's
elsewhere.
