Nosferatu Hosting: Atlanta
Stone Mountain, Georgia
December 20, 2008
13 players
2R + F

There were four players from out-of-town. Thank you for making the
trip! Three from Greenville, SC and one from Charleston, SC.

This deck took 1.5 vps in the first round, swept up 5 vps in the
second round, (to be top seed) and squeaked in 3 vps in the finals for
the tournament win. Robyn Tatu's deck almost outraced it to three
vps, as she did get two and almost ousted David before I was able to
oust her.

Significant plays by my predator in the finals that almost resulted in
my loss:
1) Direct Intervention on an Enkil Cog.
2) Sudden Reversal on a Weeping Stone.
3) Direct Intervention on a Tattoo Signal.

Deck Name : Nocturns turn the Cog
Author : The Lasombra
Description :
Appius Claudius Corvus loves to reveal his Enkil Cog to the world.
There are plenty of Nocturns to ensure that some bleeds of one get
thru before the lunge.

no perfectionist ? it's not hands down better than charisma, but
almost - and with cog you could use it twice - solve blood gain
problem rather nicely.

Originally there were three more Empowering the Puppet Kings for the
Nocturns. They were swapped out for the Enkil Cogs. An Information
Highway was swapped out for the House of Sorrows.

The deck as it exists now could certainly have made very good use of a
Foreshadowing Destruction or three.

Bleeding on your prey's turn before they can transfer off gave the
deck two vps in the second round, definitely a very powerful effect.

I would frequently take three actions with Black Hand vampires and
have three untapped Black Hand vampires at the end of the turn.

It was definitely a day for being very careful. Taking the right
actions to ensure that all of the Black Hand toys got the Black Hand
vampires untapped at the end of every turn was critical.

The No Secrets from Uchenna/Ugadja was one of the decks I feared most.
Unfoturnately it was my prey the first game. Saul Meira burned to
entomb Ugadja who had No Secrets / Raven Spy / Elephant Guardian /
Guardian Angel. Saul had earlier entombed Uchenna and gone to torpor
for it. Ermenegildo diablerized Uchenna with the blessing of the
Brujah voters, when the Brujah voters were down to about 4 pool with
Reginald in torpor and Dragonbound in play. Dragonbound came into
play around turn 3.

The weenie camera phone backstep concealed flash grenade would also
have done me in quite well had it happened to ever be my predator. I
would have had no concern if it had been my prey.

The Cry Wolf Khazar's Diary deck is very scary if given time to set
up. Fortunately I didn't sit at a table with it on that day, because
I also need some time to set up.

>Why on earth did the DomC Sela rush-deck merge Sela? Surprised

No clue. He didn't actually get it accomplished during my one game
with him. He started with Miguel Santo Domingo and brought out Sela
last. He seemed to have fallen in love with mayhem and Death of My
Conscience. He seemed to be playing more to create mayhem than to
win. He put all three of his predator's vampires in torpor and
cross-table rushed a War Ghoul (and killed it). He rushed my bishop
(Andrew Emory and put him on one blood) and tried to Horseshoe Appius
Claudius Corvus. During this time, he hadn't taken a single action
against his prey, who brought out 4 dominate minions (and eventually
contested Andrew Emory with me). It was very unusual that his prey
didn't sweep the entire table while he was enjoying the combat's
elsewhere.

I thought it was in there. I tweaked the deck for 2 minutes by adding
in the Enkil Cogs + House of Sorrows before heading to the tournament.
I kept waiting for the Perfectionist to show up and it never did. I
did have Perfectionist in every Nocturn deck I built previously and it
should definitely go back in this one.
