This isn't a big deal to me, I just wanted to share what happened and see if
this has ever happened to anyone else:
I finally succumbed to temptation, and bought the DA battleforce. After
building a few Unfo'given, I decided to prime one and start figuring out my
paint scheme. After shaking, shaking and shaking my can of Duplicolor, I
covered the mini in two passes.
FFW to this a.m.>>>>
So, upon inspection, all is wel......WAIT!!!!! What the hell happend to his
shoulder pad?!?!
It looks all melty and curdled! Yet every other plastic part is just fine.
Any idea what might have happened? I started the priming on the other side
of the mini, so I discount it getting hit with straight propellant.

First up - did you wash the plastic with some sort of cleaning
agent or a good degreaser? While oils from a person's skin can cause
problems where the primer doesn't adhere well, mold release formula left
on the mini can and sometimes does have a reaction with the primer. So,
rule number one is always wash your plastics throughly before primering
them. Next up - is 'always test on a piece of left-over plastic sprue
BEFORE priming your minis'. If only the shoulder pad reacted - then
either it was from a different batch of plastic (and how each batch
reacts to a given batch of primer varies greatly - hence the always test
first rule) or it had something on it - most likely mold release - that
didn't play well with the primer.

Did you have to glue the pads on? |

Yes, I usually do glue everything together prior to priming.
