Excellent site Sandy - I looked at the Gallery of natural flies and see
that you have two shots (same shot) of the March Brown Spinner - the
second is the better of the two being better contrast and sharper. I
feel this is one that "got away" from you.
Well done. A lot of work on your part to get so much info.

Agreed - basically sound with an interesting thread to it.
Suggestion: Add an indication of file size/duration to the video links.
Quibbles: Get rid of the javascript.
If you need stats use your server's own logging rather than Google's cookie
tracking.
If you pull all those complex css files into one or two and simplify it will
measurably speed first rendering - don't bother browser sniffing to pander
to IE7, just style so that IE remains legible even if it loses the fine
detail.
I'm not sure why you're using xhtml - glad you're going through tidy though.
Cheerio,

Agreed, good shots. But they aren't March Browns..!
MB spinners don't have "turbinate" eyes, they have larger hindwings,
etc. Looks like some sort of Olive to me. Would need dimensions,
location, date, etc, to home in on the species.

I was never happy with my identification:) It semed the closest in the
descriptions I had looked up. I had another look and decided it looks
more like a Large Dark Olive.
It was taken on the tenth of April in Alexandria, near Loch Lomond, if
that helps. The River Leven is also close-by. Size....... a little
bigger than a Claret Dun I think.

Nice site Sandy, thanks - I do envy you as I haven't been up there for
too many years. Hmm, can feel a trip to visit relatives (near
Thurso)coming up next year.
cheers all
Dave
