Hi,

Can you tell me - does the whole of Elder scrolls-Oblivion take place within
Cyroiil? I must admit that it doesn't look all that big an area looking at
the map?

Thanks

David.

Yes.

It's not (on a clear day, you're never beyond sight of the Imperial City),
but they pack an awful lot in.

Yep. The entire game takes place within the confines of Cyrodiil, save
for whatever excursions your character takes into Mehrunes Dagon's
plane of Oblivion.

Cyrodiil is supposed to be larger than Morrowind, with Cyrodiil having
approximately 16 square miles of land as opposed to the approximately
10 square miles of land in Morrowind. I must admit that Cyrodiil
certainly feels smaller than Morrowind did. I'm not entirely sure why
though.

I think it's partially the lower variation in environments, partially the
more open terrain, and partially that you can actually see the whole place
(given a sufficient graphics card).

I think it's mainly that the labyrinths of hills keeping you in a
restricted area are largely gone. Once my MW characters had a good Jump
enchantment, it became MUCH faster to travel because they could actually
head straight for their destination. Also, you can see a lot further
than you could in Morrowind.
