Well, what I figured would eventually happened has. Looks like the
motor on my CLD-D704 has died. Was trying to eject a disc and it just
made some clicking noises and eventually gave up. Now tray won't open
at all.

So, what are my options for repair? I used to take my 503 down to Sears
when it's motor broke (every 6 months wooo!) but I'm not sure if they
still accept LD players. (They just mail them off, but I'm not sure if
they have anywhere to mail LD players off to anymore, but i'll check)

Are they're any reasonable repair places online that I can ship it to?
I'd imagine its still worth fixing as 704s seem to still be worth
$200+, and I definitely use my LD player a lot.

Thanks in advance

If you don't mind shipping to Virginia I can repair it for you. Also, do
you still have the 503?

Do you also repair Panasonic units (LX900)? Mine's still going strong but
it would be nice to hear there's still service available somewhere.

Panasonic has not supported LD player parts for a few years. If something
like the pickup goes the only way to get a part is from another player.
Cannot do much for Panasonic players.
