I was reading with interest about the discussions about Iron Storm and
Dai Senkaryu 7. Man you guys got me playing my favorite stratagy war
game of all time again. Iron Storm. I have DS 7 on the X-Box but it
does not even come close to Iron Storm. I like being able to play as
the Axis powers. Being a WW II buff with numerous books and dvds on
the subject I found Iron Storm to be relativly accurate. Of course

I enjoyed Iron Storm well enough, but I recall not caring for the
actual strategy segments and sold it. While historical accuracy is
nice, my primary concern is just enjoying playing the game. :^) It's
not a bad game by any means, but I do think I'd struggle to play it
again, especially now having been exposed to Advance Wars. :^)
Excuse my ignorance, but what is Dai Senkaryu 7? Google is failing me
at the moment. :/

DS 7 is a good modern stratagy game. But to me having the chance to
actually change the history of WW II is just to tempting for me .I
like most people who read these threads collect video games and
systems. Most have there favorite genere. My favorite is fps. But I
love a good war stratagy game. My dad was a Naval pilot in the pacific
during WW II . He was also in Korea. I grew up a service brat. I had
access to all his WW II books . Thats where I got my start on WW II. I
think in the case of Iron Storm . the only way to make it better would
be during the cut scenes that display the battle sequence you picked ,
would be for it to let the player do it in a 1st player scenario , or
maybe a RTS type scenario. I also have Advanced Wars 1 + 2. Kind of
cutsie, but overall decent. There is also a game on the TG 16 that I
play at times .It's called Military Madness. Great game. I also have
the PS1 version that has the same gameplay but more scenarios and a
map editor . It is fairly hard to find. It's called Neo Nectaris. You
are battling on the moon in 2049. Another great stratagy game that I
play at times is Dragon Force. If you have a Saturn that is one game
you want. It showed the power of the Saturn during it's battle scenes.
Beautiful game. But right now I've got my Saturn cranked up playing
Iron Storm. Games that I have on the current gen consoles have been
cut off from my playing time for a while.

Same style of game, but with modern armor and aircraft. Not tied to any
historical war, so it's got more nations and more weapons to choose from.
There's also a slightly tweaked version for PSP and PS2. It's got fewer
pretty animations than the Saturn game, but there's arguably more actual
gameplay as a result.
