IIRC there was once a post on how to make a "fake" channel which was
really an alternate input device.

My primary television service is OTA, Thus I'm set up for OTA I would
like to map a channel or make a channel that is in fact "input 2" since
I'm currently feeding an FTA receiver into input 2 (And for that matter
I have cables on input 1 as well)

Does anyone remember how to do this or is it even possible on a 55xx
using broadcast settings?

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. The problems is..... That messes
up some other things.

Now that sounds like it might work... And with just a little bit of luck
I can address another issue at the same time... Will try that

And this would be necessary for what reason?? You can already define an
aux input to be attached to "other" w/o changing your line-up in any
way. You can then manually schedule single or recurring recordings on
this input to record anything you desire.

Saves time when you are recording from the AUX input of course. Saves
time. Why else would you want to do it?
