some noble charity refusing a donation from a GonCon auction because
of how the money was tainted by association with RPGs.
<sigh> There's never enough ignorant bigotry in my game worlds, I
continually fail to imagine how things like that could ever be. Time and

I think it's odd that Rich says "I'm not gonna name them", while
linking you directly to them multiple times.
But apparently the Christian Children's Fund has been taken over by
the same type of people featured in the JESUS CAMP documentary (which
I highly recommend): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eERDW1d5joQ
This is a radical wing of the Christian faith which is heavily
invested in anti-intellectualism, anti-rationalism, and anti-
creativity. Apparently they believe that you can only have faith in
God if you turn off large portions of your brain.
And roleplaying games are always going to raise their ire.

They are "holier-than-thou" and they think they truly are.
They only practice charity, if it allows them to control the subjects of
their "love" and only accept donations from their own crowd.
And they are dumb too.
Taking the money from their enemies weakens him, not them.
Every dollar they'd have taken would not be spent on new
roleplaying stuff, after all.

I'd read about this in KotDT and wondered if it might not be true.
If it IS true, didn't Gary TELL people to donate to these people? Is it
possible that he had some idea of what might happen, and that this is a
sort of, well, post-mortem prank on his part?
Because if it is... Hats off to you, Gary!

Not just "some noble charity," but rather, apparently, Gygax's
*favorite* charity.
Huh?
I knew Gygax was weird, but really.

Yeah, and that charity already has a full set of 3.5 books, and hates

Well, of course, after they saw the cover of the 4E MM.
On the bright side, I'm sure they will reap what they sow, as their
