The position is exactly like the starting position for black except that
the e pawn is missing. How obvious can bad play be?

To draw this game Try repeating the same moves and it will draw.
Or Exchange the pieces So that game is drawn.
If nothing work Press "Resign Game" Button.

I am glad for the first time GetClub was able to draw a game with your
Supirior program.
Do you know the rating of your Program at 30s/ move? Is it 2200? If
yes then GetClub Beginner Level too is 2200 Rated as it was able to
draw the game.

I feel it played Bf8 to protect the g7 pawn.
The other move to save g7 pawn is Nf6. But it do not play that as
GetClub was afraid of the fork of (Knight & Bishop) by playing e4 pawn
to e5.
But on further analyzing on Computer I find that fork can be saved by
playing Nc6 after Nf6. And when Queen goes back Bring the Queen to e7.
And Black can now take e5 pawn.
Since this was Beginner Level it overlooked those moves and played Bf8
to protect the g7 pawn.
Even after playing Bf8 the score of both sides is nearly equal.

Toga II scores Bf8 at -1.01 and Nf6 at -0.23. That's a huge difference
this early.
For fun I tried my Finalfun on this position. It prefers Nc6 because it
doesn't lose material. After Bf8 it takes a short trip to Qxg7 but soon
sees it to lose its queen. Score's are still equal.

What ELO is that level supposed to be at?

That only shows how buggy your positional evaluation is.

That doesn't seem to work, because GetClub is not repeating its
moves. At one point I managed to get the game drawn again by the
threefold repetition rule, but apparently GetClub doesn't understand
that rule either. (Maybe it does understand the rule in some special
cases, like when both players are just moving back and forth between
two different squares.)

There is no way to force piece exchanges in that position.

Why should I resign a game that is already drawn? I think it would be
better if you fixed your program. Or if you can't fix it, GetClub
should resign since it is unable to follow the rules.

It's not "my superior program", it's a dedicated chess computer from
1986 or so, which runs on a 3.6MHz 6502 8-bit CPU with about 16KB
RAM/ROM. It has a rating of about 1650 at 3min/move.
The computer that was running the GetClub program has at least 10000
times as much computational power as the Novag chess computer.

No that would not be the case. Chess ratings are based on many games
and calculated in a way that makes it possible to estimate the
expected *average* outcome of many games played between two players.
The outcome of a single game can't be used to calculate ratings.

Now only 2 options are left.
1. You press Resign button and the game is recorded.
2. I delete this game from database. Then thisgame will not be
recorded.
Which one do you chose?

I can't give draw to a running game. I can only delete it if the user
asks. Only the player playing the game can win/ lose/ draw.
I can only delete a game if something went wrong. Player can always
resign the game if he wants to start a new game. But if there is
anything wrong I will delete the game without the ratings being
affected.

3. You firstly record this game manually as drawn and then you make the
program follow the rules.
It's rather embarrassing that you still have not make it even follow the
rules, yet. |

I chose option 4: Use Jedi mind control tricks to convince GetClub
that the game really is a draw.

I am very amazed why is this happening only with you? While Every
other player is able to finish his games.
It happened Twice. Do you saw the Box "Game Disconnected"?
Here is a quick Questionare that may help me sort out the problem
------------------------->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Q. 1: What is your Operating System "Windows/ Linux/ Unix/ Mac/ Vista/
XP"
Q. 2: and what Browser you are using? "Internet Explorer/ Netscape/
FireFox"
Q. 3: If above are one of them then What is your Computer Hardware?
Q. 4: Is it some old computer?
Q. 5: And How good is your Internet Connection? Do you have broadband?
If you have everything fast and perfect. Then I have to find Why you
are facing such problem.
As everyday 10-20 games are played and no one is facing any problem.
Q. 6: Are you using too many programs at once? Or watching youtube/
Checking mails while playing?
------------------------->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
If you provide me above information I may tell why you are getting
this problem. If you do not have latest java installed then install
latest java program.
I checked your game on my Computer. And it is playing correctly. Try
using your friends computer and play the game and you will see Its
playing correctly. As out of 500 players playing at GetClub only you
are getting such problem. May be others are just not complaining me.
> This must be Sanny's way of guaranteeing his ridiculous program
> never loses again.
See the Recorded Games and you will see last 100 games and how many
were won by GetClub. Many people take help from other programs to play
at GetClub, So they get easy win. But those who use their brain are
losing to GetClub most of the time. Except "Help Bot"

Sanny, one of the reasons there are so few
games played every day is that there have
been (and still are) innumerable issues with
the Web site.
For instance, the last time I started a game
at GetClub I was immediately disconnected,
and since this happens frequently I just gave
up and decided to do other things rather than
try again and again.
In addition to the ill-logic of having players
twice undergo the process of level selection,
one screen has the "Normal" level misspelled
as "Notmal". During the loading of another
screen, the graphic chess board leaps off-
screen, and one must scroll downward to
find it again. In addition, the Java applet --
at least on my machine -- takes over one
minute to finish loading, and if I switch to
some other "tab" it may or may not finish
at all. Such annoyances are not common
with mainstream Web sites, yet they seem
to plague yours to no end.
Some time ago -- in Pleistocene Era I
think -- someone advised you on how to
solve these problems by utilizing a free
resource on the Web, but you chose to
ignore them. This kind of approach may
inevitably lead to failure, even after count-
less hours of work in other areas, such as
honing one's openings book or fixing the
many issues with move legality, etc.

Can you list all those issues you face everytime?
As when I play I do not see any problem. May be as I have good
BroadBand Connection and a fast desktop computer.

Do you have Network (Internet Connection) Problem? Are you not having
Broadband?
> In addition to the ill-logic of having players

The First Screen is just to let player know that the available Levels
are "Beginner, Easy, Normal etc". It is only the level Chosen in the
Applet that is your real Level.

This spelling mistake was Corrected Just now.

That is for people to Click on Ads. Should I remove that?

That is may be due to slow speed of your internet connection. I get
this downloaded in just 30 seconds on my computer. And it also
suggests that you are working on more than one program while playing.
Thats the real reasion why you get so many interruption.
While Playing Chess you have to stop other activities. Its not just a
simple web page Its a whole Chess application. In order you want to
work on multiple apps you must have a dual core or a quad core
computer.

you remember.

Thankyou help Bot. This is the reasion why the GetClub Chess
disconnects. Since it leaps of to top of screen some browsers cannot
handle it and the game disconnects.
Now this scrolling upwards have been removed So that players have a
smooth play.
Now I understand why some people cannot play the game as their Browser
hangs.
So Help Bot has solved the problem by identifing the possible cause of
Connection Break
Thank you Help Bot again.
Taylor Kingston I feel now the problem you were facing is solved as I
have implemented the Help Bot's Suggestions and now the game will be
more stable.
