| My vote goes to BF 1942.
I never skip that intro. It sets the mood perfectly.

Awww, you beat me to it. Ultima 7 had the best intro; aside from the
famous Guardian pushing his face through the static, I also loved the
peaceful scene with the butterfly in the beginning. I still can't see
a monarch butterfly going by without thinking of Ultima.
Well, since I can't get in my choice for best intro, how about second
best: Syndicate. I remember it was run as a seperate executable; I
wrote a batch file to play the intro over and over again, it was so
cool (the game wasn't bad either, but the intro... man!) |

Mechwarrior 3. Really nice smoke and I liked the recoil the mechs got
from rocket impact.

Fallout, hands down, the best intro movie ever.
Maybe....
you'll think of me
when you are all alone
Maybe the one who is waiting for you
Will prove untrue,
then what will you do?
Maybe....
you'll sit and sigh,
wishing that I were near
Then maybe you'll ask me to come back again
And maybe
I'll say "Maybe"
"War. War never changes." |

I'd vote for Mechwarrior 2 or Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries (I'll never forget
that one line: "I'm not getting paid enough to die."). I always wondered if
it was James Earl Jones doing that voice (in Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries).

But does it have to be a pc game?
If so my vote goes to Warcraft 3 (or any other Blizzard game for that
matter, they're all amazing really).
If not then it's easily Final Fantasy VIII (the most incredible piece of
music ever written for a video game bar none) followed by Chrono Cross, a
not too distant second place (both originally PS1 games). |

I'll second Warcraft 3. Loved the movies. The boxed set included a DVD
of just the movies ... which was a clever idea.
