Is that anything like an Ooomm-bopper?
I'm looking forward to a plastic slick and/or gunship, (especially
since Mongoose never got around to the Slingshot). |

One of the others is a Doommhammer. |

I for one hope that this "Boobhammer" is a new, GW market-droneese for
"Stormhammer". |

unlikely - the Stormhammer had 2 main turrets, so the whole hull would need
to be redesigned, which wouldn't be cost-effective in terms of the number
they'd be likely to sell.
at least, that was the reason Forge World cited when I asked them why they
hadn't made a Stormhammer like 6 years ago. |

The Doommhammer is a Doomhammer with a special typo-gun.
In the latest (UK) WD, they show their new Shadowsword, and describe it as
being "...one of six possible super-heavy variants you can make from the
same box set."
The Doomhammer is the same model, with a much shorter barrel on the main
gun. (literally the same model, if you look closely at the paint job)
So what are the other 4 variants?
Also, the article where the Doomhammer gets a mention basically says "we're
not putting anything in the Codexes that aren't gonna be models, and we're
not making models that aren't in the Codexes, except for collector's
editions cos our sculptors get bored"
So is my Guard Codex out of date, or do I keep missing the page with 8
super-heavy tanks? |

That explains their shutting down the bits service . . .

Both -
The Baneblade isn't in your dex, and it's just one tank with eight
hats.
Now that there's a plastic Baneblade, the next IG dex will list them.
Hopefully, one variant will let the main gun fully traverse . . .

This was in Jervis' Standard Bearer Column, and I read it as just they
are going to go back and make sure everything has a model. The
collectors range is for odd models that may not fit in the regular
range -cuz the sculptor got bored- and that not everything has to have
a model on release day anymore. But I could be giving JJ to much
credit when saying that new models for an army will no longer just
come out when the Codex/Army boox is released. |

No one's said anything about *all* the 40kA Units.
But, let's have a look at them all, just in case -
Hmmm... All those Formations are just repackaged OTS models.
All the Legendary Units are OTS models with bling attached.
So, Fortress of Arrogance won't be an IG Unit in the dex.
That's not to say that it won't be featured . . .
But, a Baneblade without the miniturrets would go @400pts.
That could get it into an IG dex without too much problem.
*And* let the main turret fully traverse . . .

doubt it - if they start putting all the Apocalypse units in the new
codexes, they can't really bring out any new Apocalypse books. and since
they're gonna write new codexes anyways, and very few players will buy every
single codex compared with the number who will buy Apocalypse supplements
.... well, you get the idea. |

I've heard somewhere* that the Baneblade won't be in the next codex - it's
been decided that it's just too over-powering in anything less than using
the Apocalypse rules & setting.
*Can't for the life of me remember where, so don't treat this as gospel.
Cheers, Martyn
