Is it just my imagination, or is the handbrake WAY too touchy to be useful? I am slowly
re-learning handbrake turns(new owner of a 360), and it seems any slight tap of it does
one thing: spin your car out, and makes you 180 degrees away from what you truly want.

I seem to have better luck just taking corners carefully using just the right blend of gas
& brake, passing every kid who overshoots the tricky turns in GTA Race. Just hit 3rd level
last night after a kind soul did a 1 on 1 race with me, netting me $500.

yeah, a few of us are finding the braking in the game painful

I'm doing a lot better in the GTA races for the week I've owned this console. Damn is it
addicting. Reminds me a lot of 187 Ride or Die. Lots of kids just overshoot the corners at
top speed like I used to do in Gran Turismo. I just take the tough turns slowly, and
totally avoid the massive pileup of sportscars and quickly go from last to around 4th place.

Now only if I knew how to shoot better. My experience with driving + shooting with analog
stick was limited to True Crime: NYC.

I have to say that although I find next gen stuff very good on the eye
I'm fed up of framerate problems etc. It's like they're so determined
to show how brilliant something is they don't think about playability.

I must be the only person enjoying the new vehicle physics.

Since all my last GTA's have been on a PC, having proportional gas and
brakes is a new thing. But it does seem like the throttle and brake don't
use the full travel of the triggers on the 360 controller. That certainly
would explain why most cars feel overly sensitive to input. The gas or brake
are buried before your fingers are. Agreed. Definitely a touchy feel.

I don't notice that issue as much with FWD cars, or modern RWD cars, but the
older cars do need more attention due to body roll. I'm finding it helps to
lift earlier or apply a little regular brake before going for the e-brake.
That way you spread out the weight transfer. And like S1500 said, even
staying on the gas at times too. Depends on the car and situation.

Favorite e-brake event yet is hitting a curb while sliding sideways at high
speed. Instead of jumping it, the car smacked square into it and snapped
into a nice barrel roll into the air. Very nice.

Apparently if you can get it to roll 4 times on the 360 you get gamer
points :O)
