I *loved* IV when I first got my hands on it... Like Jet Li said in The
One(yeah, sucky movie, but still.) "There has never been anything greater
than what I have become." No denying.

However, having said that, I've been playing the game now until well into
the second island, ;and I have to say I'm disappointed- I'm spoiled... I
miss the dirt bikes, the gang fights, the desert runs, the hover crafts, the
jet packs, the go-karts, the parachutes, the airport access, the working
out- the *getting better with the vehicles*... The buying properties, and
having actual garages to store my prized vehicles in... And whatever I've
missed here, which is probably a lot. I miss the Sam Jackson and Chris
Penn... And Peter Fonda... though, I don't miss David Cross. Again... IV is
the first GTA on PS3... and SA was the last on PS2... So I think the next R*
offering will be even better... But I sure miss properties with
garages.....

Honestly I don't miss those things personally. When you become better at
driving in GTA IV it's you becoming better not some artificial award for
driving a lot. Properties have parking spaces that keep your cars that's
good enough for me. I think one or two hidden parachutes on the tall
buildings would be a nice easter egg.

GTA:SA just looks so incredibly crude & ugly after you've played GTA IV.
Graphics don't make a game true but when they've been surpassed it still
hurts the older game.

Anyway just offering another opinion not trying to shoot anyone down. I'd
also say that online multiplayer makes up for a lot of the missing stuff.

Yeah it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I guess maybe Niko is an
illegal alien and can't buy property. But you should be able to store
cars at paid parking lot or garage, there's plenty of those around.
The game is called Grand Theft Auto after all, why can't we have
plenty of room for all our ill-gotten gains?

And if you take a cool vehicle out to a mission, more often than not
you're forced to abandon it. That's been a problem in all the GTAs.

yeah, that's a good point about the parking areas. The one good thing
is that if you are able to arrive at them all of the safe house
parking spaces will keep your cars whether you have the property or
not.

Too bad cars disappear from them a lot more often than they do from
garages. I think they get hit by traffic and knocked out of the space so
the game doesn't save them. In garages I never had much problem with
disappearing cars except when I overstuffed them (with a couple of well-
known exceptions...)

tends to be cop cars which cops drive off in, but have you ever got a
cab to drop you off at a safe house and fast forwarded the journey and
next thing you know the taxi is appearing on trop of one of your cars?

I had one big mess in SA, I parked a limo in one garage as it was the
only space I had and although the rear end protruded a little it
closed the door, but when I cam to get the thing out it was embedded
into the wall. I tried all sorts of things, including leaving it
during many saves and loads, destroying it then walking away and
coming back etc etc. eventually I had to sit in it with full revs and
push hard to one side for what felt like an hour as it very very
slowly edged its way out of the wall.

Liberty City is still novel enough for me that I don't do trip skips--I like to look around while I'm riding.
Actually, I've only ridden in a cab a couple of times. Seems kinda silly when I can get around on my
own just fine. Usually I'll call or flag a cab, then jack it. I hate the motorcycles in this game but I love
driving the cars.

Wow. I've never tried to garage a limo. I hate the things. Too damn big and no accelleration. I can
see that happening, though.

There are some times when it just makes sense, or shortens a tedious
journey. There are a couple of missions where it actually helps to
hail a cab, and if I know a certain route can be avoided I'll do it.

eventually I had to sit in it with full revs and

I used to garage them if I knew they were needed for the import/export
and not always easy to find. as you get a limo in one of the missions
I tended to keep that one but normal keep it in one of the big 4 car
garages.

Actually that's a shitty point. When you could buy properties with garages,
you could jam as many cars, or bikes or whatever, as you could into them...
now you can't even put 3 motorcycles into the parking space. And forget
about parking a tank into the spot because unless I'm totally wrong, you
can't get a tank in GTAIV....

You know the mob guy you did missions for on the North end of
Alderney, in the big nice house? I'm bad with names, Pegerino?
Anyway you could go into the garage at his house, I thought I'd wind
up whacking the guy and taking over his house at some point.

There was always a limo parked near the SF race marker behind Wang cars...

Not true. In SA and VC there's a limit of 4 vehicles per garage, but for
most the door won't open if there are two vehicles in the garage already.
You have to get out so the door opens, then try to get back in and drive
into the garage before the door closes.

The first San Fierro "safe house" - the garage in Doherty - will open the
door for a fourth vehicle, but when you try to cram a fifth vehicle in it
the fourth one disappears once you move out of range.

really? Mind you, I don't bother with races so I probably wouldn't
have been there.
