Being a long time Ork player I could not resist when Forgeworld released
the new Biker Boss. I pre-ordered and eagerly awaited the shipment.
Yesterday in the mail I got a plain looking brown box with the funny
looking postage on it and I knew my Warboss had landed.

The postmark, by the way, was from Sweden. Why is Forgeworld shipping
from Sweden? I dunno. Anyway, on to the review.

The parts were well packaged in bubblewrap and a good sized ziplock type
bag to prevent loss. Unlike some FW kits the instructions were actually
fairly detailed with two double sided pages showing how to assemble the
kit.

The kit consists of 31 pieces including the scenic base, which is HUGE.
It's 40mm wide and nearly 100mm long, occupying almost four times the
area of the smaller rounded end bases that have been shipping with some
of the bike kits. The Boss himself is easily larger than the Black Reach
warboss... and he's sitting. He's bulkier than the latter as well and
has a nice looking Orky skull plate for chest armor. That brutal looking
buzzsaw is just a hair smaller in diameter than a 25mm base.

The bike itself is beautiful as well, with nicely detailed suspension
and engine. Modeled to be cornering there are different parts for left
and right side suspensions so assembly will take some extra time just to
make sure the right parts are going in the right places. More so than
usual prefitting is recommended here.

More as I get time to prep and assemble but for now, I'm not
disappointed. This will make a worthy companion to my Wazdakka
conversion and should look good and impressive on the table.

Waaaagh!

This looks to be a truly meaty project - loads of detail, etc.
Also, there's no doubt this monster is a BOSS.
Keep us updated.

For you kids playing-along at home:

Frikin' amazing! Almost enough to make me want to buy an ork army. Or
at least add it to black reach orks.

Light years beyond their recent CSM stuff. A quick review:

Full-on:
Details to die for -
The cogbelt and sloppy 'bird turd' weld seam touches just boggle.
I see there's a tension idler, electric motor and battery pack, too.

Semi:
His head looks mashed-in, but not in a decently Orky way.
It's okay for *your* boss to have Hairdresser Hands.
It's not okay for a *Warboss* to have them.

Limp:
Horrifically overpriced evidently = prestige.

I can't wait to see this beast painted-up.
Is it too soon for an update?
How about now?
How about now?
How about now?

Pla - stop it! - ya

Heh. Just got the beast washed up and started to dress the parts. Not a
lot of flash but enough to slow things down. Of course, I'd rather be
cleaning flash and pour sprues than filling in missing bits. The level
of detail really is amazing. Brake lines, control handles, idler
pulleys, Jumper cable type clips for the battery, footpegs with gnurled
bumps, it's all there.

Nothing to show yet, but it's most of the way to being ready to begin
assembly. Should be ready to post up something in the way of WIP pics
this week (I think).
