Hey,
From GW Newsletter 22.08.2009 -
+++
Incoming! Skaven
This November the Skaven will be clawing and scurrying their way
across the Old World with renewed ferocity. As well as a new army
book, there are plenty of new metal and plastic miniatures being
released, so you'll have a host of new war machines, monsters and
characters to field alongside your classic favourites. Here's a first
look at Alex Boyd's great piece of cover art:

I quite like a lot of the models - the basic Clanrats aren't among
them. Good to know they're being redone.

that's a nice picture.
i really hope they get some decent figures this time around. the skaven are
by far GW's best fantasy concept, and deserve to be (finally) worth
collecting again. |

I thought they were ripped off from Fritz Lieber's "Swords of
Lhankmar"...

Personally, I think Maya Lizardmen are GW's best fantasy concept.

Not just the figures, I hope the army gets some decent concepts and
rules this time around. The Vermin Lord was awesome, so was the
Doomwheel. Both disappeared. A lot of the randomness and
"instability" of Skaven technology disappeared. They became pretty
stale and boring. I want to see some fun rats again.

correct. my statement is still, however, technically true. |
