Greetings all, for the new year I'm running a little auction for the
last figures I painted in 2008.
These figures were sculpted by Paul Hicks, originally as a private
comission for a gift to a member of the 28th Gloucester Regiment of
the British Army, and then later cast up and available for a brief
time in exchange for donations to the Army Benevolent Fund charity.
The sale of the figures alone has already raised over £800 / $1600 for
retired soldiers and their families.
The sale of the figures was facilitated largely through the community
at Steve Dean's Painting Forum.
The figures represent an officer of the Glosters at the Battle of
Alexandria (1805), and an officer on the Western Front (1916). Only
100 of each sculpt were cast.
All the funds raised from the auctions will be donated. 80% will go to
the Army Benevolent Fund, and 20% will go to help support Steve Dean's
painting site, which provides a great community for figure painters
free of charge.
