Archived from groups: alt>games>civ3 (more info?)

I am currently playing the most interesting game I have had for ages. As
the group seems a bit quiet, I thought I would mention it.

For the first time I tried the scenario 'Earth 18 Civs'. It uses a
representation of the real earth map and each leader is placed on their
country of origin. The mistake I made was choosing Louis XIV (which I
always do) as France has no oil, but fortunately I managed to invade Egypt
and steal theirs!

The 18 Civs make for a massive game. I played on Prince level, which
compares to my usual games on Monarch using a small map. I found my
research very competitive, which is helped by a large amount of technology
trading - if you research the rare techs before other Civs.

I would recommend this scenario if you fancy a change. Although, it does
take a lot of time processing each turn on my PC which is a bit frustrating.

Cheers

Mark
