Yes (since March '05)
Yes (I have only bought one other game since, and I don't play that, so
Eve has saved me a huge amount of cash).
Yes - but they are probably a lot less interesting to other people than
they are to me. Mining in my sleep (I hate rock chewing). Hunting
pirates with the Molden Heath vigilantes. My first PvP victory. Getting
out of a mission with 4% of my hull left intact. Inviting friends along
to help me with a mission and watching them lose their ships. My first
destroyer - ditto my first cruiser, BC, Inty, AF, Battleship, HAC.
Stripping a belt in a Corp mining op, and flying cover for a fleet op. I
could go on, but I won't.

Lots of stuff - but I suggest that you read a few of the forums at
eve-online.com and see if you like the sound of what is going on.

One other point that I really like - skill learning goes on at a steady
rate whether you are in-game or not. So people who spend 167 hours a
week in game don't have that much advantage over those who have little
spare time - compared with games where you have to grind the skills out
(more fun, too).

Thanks John

I took the plunge and signed up to the 14 day trial. Initial thoughts:
this thing is huge! I'm really looking forward to some PVP and finding
some buddies to hang with.

Cheers

Hey Derek, can you give some first impressions? What your liking about it,
what your finding annoying about it?

Cheers!

Derek, I hope you like mining also. You'll be doing a lot of it!

Why should he? I have never done much mining, there are easier and more
fun ways to make money (IMHO).

Let me guess, you didnt find anything else to do than mining to get isk when
you tried it ?

Other and faster ways to make isk than mining. The only thing holding you
back is yourself.
