| NBA 2K2 (DC) has the announcers speaking both the first and last names
of all players -- including rookies.
Why can't 2K3 thru 2K6 for the PS2, XBox, etc?

Border Down, Chaos Field and Trizeal aren't user made software (assuming
user-made means homebrew).

There have been a number of releases since Ikaruga, mostly either
shmups, date sims or fan-produced stuff (or emulators); this title
has been announced, but the release date hasn't...

Whatever.
I got one for Christmas, played about 10-15 games on it, then Sega
decided to discontinue it.
I loved the online functionality, it was excellent.
But the graphics in some games were no better than N64 or PS1 games.
Soul Calibur looked amazing, but many other games looked pretty shitty,
not even on par with some N64 titles.
And the controller sucked worse than the original Xbox controler.
PS2 came out and I jumped at it.
I knew the launch titles weren't very impressive, but even The Bouncer
looked better than 90% of what was on Dreamcast. MGS2 flat out
destroyed it and even caused me to put off buying an Xbox. I knew if
they could pull of a game like MGS2 on PS2 that in the near future the
difference between graphics of the other consoles would be moot.
DOA3 looked amazing, but nothing had the cinematic feel of MGS2.
Even the Xbox had trouble pulling off that fillrate used in MGS2.
I knew then and there the PS2 was going to be the game system to get.
Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Tekken, and all the great exclusive
franchises would be on the system. Games like Devil May Cry redifined
video gaming in both graphics and gameplay.
Xbox had Halo, but I already played Red Faction which was a much better
single player experience even though the graphics weren't that great.
Hell, even now PS2 is still being pushed further.
Games like Soul Calibur 3, Resident Evil 4, and Metal Gear Solid 3 look
as good or better than anything on the Xbox not to mention the
Dreamcast, which was far, far, behind PS2 in terms of technical merit.
Bring on the PS3 baby.

Not sure how you are coming up with 7 years old for the dreamcast.
It was launched on 9/9/99 ... I should know I was in charge of the
launch.
We kept sony out of the VMA's and used that show as the big launch
vehicle.

Dreamcast came out November 27, 1998 in Japan - that's the date I was
going by.
