Thanks Jeff, I actually have been recording Hi-Def recordings
on my Replay for years via my Sony HD300 and before that my
Mitsu SR-HD5. It actually makes a big difference, to me, to
record the Hi-Def version of a program at medium quality over
the SD recording. When played back from the Replay the difference
between the two recordings is similar to a 480p DVD quality
experience versus a VHS tape directly into a standard television.
The diffference is *significant* regardless of being recorded
on the non-HiDef replay because the source is so much cleaner.
