Some might know what DCS is. It's the new line of study sims that Eagle
Dynamics are doing (creators of LO-MAC).

The first title is "DCS: Black Shark", focusing on the Ka-50.

There are some very nice Producer Diaries on their webpages, and SimHQ
also has a couple of preview articles.

Anyways, their plans for the future looks like this:

"As for what happens after Black Shark, the team has several aircraft
modules currently in development (this could include development of 6 DOF
cockpits, avionics or flight dynamics). While the A-10A Suite 2 module will
still likely follow the Black Shark, the following aircraft are also now
planned for DCS in development at one stage or another:

1- A-10A Suite 2 (latest version of A-10A in active use)
2- A-10C Suite 3 (we now have permission from the USAF to develop an
entertainment version of the simulation we developed for them. We are very
happy and excited about this).
3- AH-64A Blk. 49A
4- Su-27
5- F-15C
6- Mi-24V
7- F-16C
8- MiG-29A"

I check the shop for them regularly, I wish that that would be updated with
something I could buy soon! Was the Tornado not mentioned by them as well?

Nice of you to do PR for them but if they don't drop Starforce they
are going to lose a lot of sales. They said they will continue
developing the other modules *only* if Black Shark sells well enough.
Well, if it doesn't sell well enough they will only have themselves to
blame for insisting on using Starforce. It doesn't matter if Starforce
have fixed their drivers so they no longer cause people issue or not,
the fact remains that Starfoce is black listed by most hardcore gamers
so using it will be commiting financial suicide.

And how long exactly have they been working on BlackShark?

Full credit to them and I hope it works out but it all sounds like
pipedreams and bluster to me. And can somebody please please please
introduce them to a decent campign system

Not that long really. They have been doing an A-10 simulatiuon for the USAF
so that is what they have really been doing all this time and not so much
work on Black Shark.

The A10c is great news but it makes the release of the A10a a bit
pointless. I'd certainly rather have the modern version than a
slightly improved LOMAC A10. I'd also rather have a longbow than a
plain AH64 - it's been so long.

By the way, my squad had a recent multiplayer test flight consisting
of six SIM-MOD A10s in Flaming Cliffs. I've got an older machine and
will definitely have to adjust my settings to get acceptable
framerates but those with kickass modern hardware were reporting
decent framerates (and the A10s are now oh so pretty).

Hopefully DCS will take advantage of multiple cores as I'm sure it'll
have more prettys than LOMAC.

Problem with modeling the Longbow is getting permission from the US, and
getting enough data to properly model it and it's radar. As ED is an
russian company, this is understandably harder than back when Janes's
was doing it.

Hehe, to get the same data that Janes had all they have to do is play
AH64D Longbow 1 and 2. My understanding with permissions is that it's
a commercial arrangement with the aircraft manufacturer.
