First, 1UP (Ziff-Davis) declares Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Then, the
senior editor posts a blog essentially how that was a "good thing".
After that, the news is reported that Games for Windhoze will cease
print publication and go to online only. Following that, there is
another post by the senior editor how all this is a "good thing" and
oh by the way, he is sorry to say the layout and graphics designers
for GfW had to be laid off. But all that is a "good thing". Now, Dan
(the-Rat) Hiss-You is jumping the 1UP sinking ship before it goes
under completely. Chapter 11 is for companies to erase debt and re-
organize but a lot of companies that go Chapter 11 just go under after
being unsuccessful in making a turnaround. With the Ziff-Davis
publication situation, there is no way they can turn it around. The
only way they can bring in more revenue is with more ads. If they fill
their publications with more ads and fewer article pages, then that is
the kiss of death. Sounds like things are tough over there at 1UP with
the bribes from Micro$leaze to slag on the PS3 and Sony have been
turned off.

Dan "Shoe" Hsu ends long career at Ziff Davis
Ziff Davis announced today that Dan "Shoe" Hsu, former editor-in-chief
of Electronic Gaming Monthly, will be leaving Ziff Davis "to pursue
personal interests." Site Director Sam Kennedy will be taking over
Hsu's current role as Editorial Director of 1UP Networks.
The abrupt departure, which comes after an 11-year career with the
video game news publisher, follows a Tuesday announcement that Ziff
Davis Games For Windows magazine would be going to an online-only
format effective immediately. It's not immediately known what Hsu
plans to do next. Kennedy will also maintain his current role as
editor-in-chief of the online gaming news portal.
Hsu started working for Ziff Davis in April 1996. He briefly wrote for
start-up Gamers.com from April 2000 - 2001 before returning to Ziff
Davis and becoming editor-in-chief of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Hsu
was promoted to editorial director last year, when former Editorial
Director John Davison left Ziff Davis to start parents gaming guide

day.... I recall that issue of EGM that Hsu ripped a new one in Peter
Moore. I don't even like Moore and I felt he did not need to be dissed
that royally...

Your memory is as faulty as your distorted logic, you fat, balding
dork. I didn't think anything about that article and would hardly call
it Hiss-you going after Moore with a "vengeance". You are so bizarre,
your whole world of reference revolves around Penny Arcade,
Wimpipedia, Metacritic, Gamerankings and 1UP postings. I know you are
a doofus dork but do you constantly have to emphasize it?
What you fail to point out, as usual with your twisted spin attempts,
was after that 1UP article between Hiss-you and Moore, things suddenly
got very chummy between 1UP, Hiss-you, Moore and Micro$ludge. And it
was pretty obvious payoffs started happening. Now, that Micro$windle
has cut off the payola to 1UP, they are collapsing and bailing right
and left. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see Hiss-you
suddenly found being employed by Micro$lurm in some obscure outland
post like Tina Wood and Laura Foy.
I have always though Dan Hiss-you was a pompous, self-centered,
hypocritical little ass, no mater what his position of the day was,
like the latest little game reviewer "integrity" schtick he tried to
push. I just want to see 1UP, EGM and Ziff-Davis just collapse and go
away. They were kind of this spearhead of the "ooh, we are so edgy, we
just have to be cool" new wave style of so-called video game
"journalism" and it is very satisfying to see that crumbling and
probably coming to an end in the near future.
