Post subject: DSR922 video out in B&W
Archived from groups: alt>video>satellite>4dtv (more info?)

I've just recently purchased a new HDTV, and have connected my DSR 922
to it via the video out connector (not the S-Video) using a cable with
an RCA plug at both ends. But the picture is in black and white.

I know the receiver is generating a color picture because when I connect
to the 75 ohm TV out connection I get a color picture. I see something
in the manual about distinguishing between segregated chrominance vs
luminescence for the S-video out (page 25 #7), but I don't see anything
about it for the video out. Nor do I see where there is a place to
select between the two.

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks,

Take care,
Rich

Even though he's dead it makes about much sense
to vote for him as it does for the choices

going change his position on anything.

Were you watching The Last Picture Show?

Nope. Young Frankenstein, either.

Good movies, BTW.

I have 922 hooked up to LCD HDTV.....via component one, which has both
S-video and composite jack on component one; hence, both S-Video and
Composite are both hooked to component one.

Does yours have both on a single input?

I finally had the time to figure it out and you were sorta' on the right
track.

I have two composite inputs (R,G,B) on the back, but I didn't realize
that only one doubles as an a/v in. I was plugged into the second one.
Fortunately there is a second a/v in on the side.

Thanks for your help.

Rich
