Talking of weird messages, I sometimes get a mssge like this:

Unlinked temporary item:
murky black potion
item #4: base:8; sub 1; ............ x: 0; y: 0; link:50

I've snipped most of it, but I noted one down in its entirety (should
anyone want it).

fix is to use stairs, but until I do it keeps repeating over and over
and over.
