Hey.. this might be old news but I found a cordless soldering gun at
Home Depot. $ 19.00 and it runs on butane.

Just light it and solder !

Works great and no plug.

He is a very important question.
How do you control the temperature (if at all)?
It does not sound like the right tool for anything but basic coil and
non-sensitive wire soldering.
