I agree. But then. the number of things that should be changed in a patch is
practically endless. And the game only lasts 300 turns! It has lost its
richness, its variety.

In the games I've played so far, albeit on large worlds at epic speed, I
haven't got *anywhere near* the maximum turn limit.

I've refrained from doing that, having read that the taxes become absolutely
crushing on Epic because of faulty balancing.
To tell the truth, I haven't played Col II much the last week or so. I'm
waitign for a patch, though I don't think one will be forthcomign until some
time in December.

That's why I rebalance it somewhat by adjusting tax increase rates via
the xml files.

If you don't want to do *that*, then try playing as the Dutch with
Adrien van der Donck - with him, the King as for tax hikes half as
often.
