Well, optimally any game should be the best quality and the most fun and
the least expensive (while still funding operating costs as well as staffing
costs and regular tuning plus upgrades)..
The problem is that even with an optimal cash cow, things get boring,
regular advertising is necessary to keep the game in the minds of your
customers plus your future customers (I wonder how much buying an idle
DIRECTTV channel would cost with regular looping for "The City of Heros" /
"City of Villains"? Barack Obama thought it an interesting if not somewhat
clever purchase to bypass the media filters and the loud useless
opinion-shoving pundits).

Dish Launches Obama Channel
October 2, 2008
Dish Network yesterday launched a new channel dedicated to the presidential
campaign of Barrack Obama. The new channel which airs on Dish Network
channel 73 shows a loop of commercials telling people about who Barack Obama
is and tells his story. Currently the video is a two minute loop which
repeats over and over again.
Since this channel has gone online my mailbox has filled up with complaints
from angry Dish Network subscribers over this latest channel addition.
In speaking with Dish Network about this new channel I have been told that
Dish is not playing favorites by airing this channel but instead are renting
out a channel to a party who's willing to paying for it.
According to the Dish Networks CEO office, "This channel is available to
customers subscribing to all packages and is broadcast from the 110° orbital
location and will be broadcast though the conclusion of the elections. At
this time it is not available to customers on the eastern arc. Please inform
customers who inquire that this is paid advertising by the Obama campaign
and is not an endorsement of Senator Obama by DISH Network. This space has
been purchased similar to any other channel we broadcast, and any other
candidate who wishes to purchase a channel through DISH Network will be
given the same opportunity. At this time, no other candidates have showed
interest in purchasing a channel."
If the channel offends you remember a great thing about Dish Network
receivers is they give you the ability to block channels which you do not
want to see.
