So the villains get to be bookies, car stereo thieves, telemarketers,
oil executives, purloiners of baby's candy, and other nefarious "Day Jobs"?

Well, seriously. Logged on an ALT of mine sitting idle for over 1000
days, collected the "Day Job" reward and was pleasantly surprised the ALT
had not leveled up to level 50.

What is a Day Job in terms of being offline? A double XP period for the
exchange rate of being offline for a bit. I am happy that as "Monty Haul"
game tweaks go, that this was not an obscene blessing of the game changes.

The change is rather reasonable with the logical deduction that aside
from encouraging compulsive ALT-ism that the Development Team would like to
have folks dust off their idle Alternate Characters once and a while and
have some fun doing a different playstyle.

I was frankly afraid that all of my idle Alts would be level 50 when I
logged on with them with the Day Job tweak and this is not bad at all of a
concept.

The other thing that made me a tad gruff was wondering if this tweak was
to encourage people not to play in the same way that "PROGRESS QUEST"
patiently deprograms "World of Warcraft" addicts into realizing that they've
fallen into the trap of having the game play them instead of the other way
around.

Quite by accident I found that you can work on 2 day jobs at the same
time, I was in RWZ and went to the SG portal in the Vanguard base
there and logged off. When I got back I was pleasantly surprised to
find that I had 2 day jobs going the Vanguard Recruit (Log off in
Vanguard base - Merit Bonus upon Mission Complete) and the Monitor
Duty (Log off near Base Portal - Earn Prestige Bonus)

So I"m staring at the remaining day jobs trying to figure out if there
are others that can be worked 2 at a time...nothing is hitting me just
yet, but if I do find something I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Haven't tried this one yet so I'm not sure but depending on how they
have it classified it could be 2 or maybe 3 jobs at once, Red side log
off in Grandville at the VG portal.

Arachnos Official (Anywhere in Grandville - Traveler's Jet pack
temporary power), that's one!
Monitor Duty (Supergroup bases or near base portals - Prestige bonus),
that's 2!
and maybe but I'm not sure Arachnos Agent (Arachnos Bases and Arachnos
Friendly areas. Not areas with hostile Arachnos forces - Experience
Bonus upon mission complete) cause the portal is on the main Arachnos
building, but it's location is outside the building so I'm not sure if
it would qualify. But if you have the monitor duty job you can go
inside and work on the 2 Arachnos jobs

The Alternate Character was logged off in Steel Canyon's hospital for
over 1000 days, the reward was basically Double XP (or is it XP + 1/2) until
4000 XP is earned.

Same level, same everything (aside from the Veteran's Reward badges) and
a little auto-temp power bonus (for from the whole "Day Jobs" thing).

The really curious add-on to the whole ISSUE 13 right now is apparently
you can turn off the XP earning in OPTIONS (right above the Status Window
Buff Display stuff). That changes some of the play dynamics in the way that
Ash Catchem has an unevolved Picachew

As far as I can tell it's by design, as almost all of them stack with
the "on patrol" one.

The wise man once said, "In a boat you can drift with the tide or paddle
against the wind or drop your anchor so as to ignore the weather. It all
depends on how urgently you need to be somewhere else or at peace with your

Merely because the game has declared a set of rules does not mean you
can not create new games to play with the gameboard and pieces you have been
given. You do not have to live the life that has been delivered to you
prepackaged.
