I don't remember the second one, but the 5th letter is evidently O.

1. WYOMING
2. ---
3. (James) NAISMITH
4. MONKEY
5. NEVERMORE
6. (Lucille) BALL

Read upward diagonally to find the butler, BENSON.

All correct! #2 is a very tough one now, although you probably knew
him a decade ago.

NINE tremendous points (5 + 4), just missing the first perfect score!

Funnily enough, that was one of the two I knew immediately.
I even know who played him in the movie "Rogue Trader"...

If this were "Family Feud", you'd probably get credit, but this isn't
and you don't.

I saw the correct answer on another's entry. If you had given
me credit, I would have refused it. WTF do so many people think
that any primate is a monkey? That's like calling porcupines and
prairie dogs rats.

Ah, I didn't know about that movie! Very cool (not that I'm going
to rush out to rent it or anything). I won't spoil the answer to
your implied trivia question since I looked it up on IMDB.

For the same reason they "think" the word "bug" includes all insects.
That *is* what the words mean in everyday usage.

See e.g. <http://www.m-w.com>:

# monkey
# 1 : a nonhuman primate mammal with the exception usually of the lemurs
# and tarsiers; especially : any of the smaller longer-tailed primates
# as contrasted with the apes

Surely the idea of a quiz is to test knowledge of the FACTS. You can't
expect every common misconception to be allowed as well....
