Post subject: Baby Pac-Man vidiot board upgrade???? Archived from groups: rec>games>video>arcade>collecting, others (more info?)

Got my Baby Pac-Man back and it works great, or shall I say worked
great. It lasted 2 full days then it died.
Upon further investigation, I found out that the MS9928 chip got very
hot and that was probably the reason for it dying.
My question is; how do you install a heat sink on this chip? Is there
something documented somewhere?
I also got to get a couple fans inside of there, it gets very hot
inside that cabinet (worse than Q*bert, and I thought that cabinet was
the hottest one that I have).
After about 3 hours, I reseated a bunch of chips on the vidiot board
and got my 10 blinks and the game plays again. I even turned it off
and on a few times to check it and it worked every time.
I got it turned off right now and don't really plan on having it on
until I get this problem taken care of, at least as far as I can take
it.
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks.

Digi-Key (and others) sell 40 pin-DIP heat sinks. These clip lengthwise
over the chip and cost about a dollar. I include one when I sell a NOS
TMS9928A...

Hi,
I have these for $10 each if anyone needs one, just need to put the
heatsinks up on the site, but they are a $1 item anyhow.
