The Civ games have a very specific place that they look for save files.
On my PC, (running XP) I go into <My Documents>, then <My Games>, then
<Beyond the Sword>, then <Saves>, then <Single>. At that point, I can
see my saves games. If I download a save from CivFanatics and put it
here, I can play it. Now, the problem is, I don't have Vista, so I
don't know where the save files are on that OS.
I would assume that you could just do a search on your laptop for any
files titled *.civ and find where they are that way. I believe that the
save files are called something like that. You should be also able to
move directories from the load saved game page of the game itself. When
you get to this page, look on the left at the directory tree. Start
trying to click on areas above where you currently are until you get to
your <C> drive. You should be able to find it from there...
