Bother, I've gone and bought one now. And it's BASTARD NOISY. Sounds
like three whiny fans going up and down with the temperature plus the
DVD drive on top of that. At its quietest it's about the same noise as
my Mac is when going at full tilt! It's like going back to the 90s for
PC noise.
However! I shall turn up my amp, Crackdown is aces and Halo's not so
bad. Roll on Rez.
I'm a bit surprised to find that it won't do 1080p into my Dell 24"
monitor - but I'm using component, would a VGA cable do it?
Cheers - Jaimie

A project awaits - I'm sure I can link it into the cooling loop that

Crikey, you should have had a release day one! The one I got back from MS
when my release day model RROD is at worst half as noisy as the one it
replaced. I don't hear it once I'm playing.

As I understand things the 360 does do 1080p over component but there arn't
that many display devices that can accept it over component. Are you sure
your monitor can?

It does, as that what mine is doing.

The subject was only 81 characters, so all you'd miss is the 50p off the end

You're neglecting to count the bit at the start which says "Subject: "

I do. I've put a lot of effort into getting my computers vewwy, vewwy
quiet, so it's a nasty surprise. Mind you, the PS2 Slim counts as a
little bit noisy too, which gives you an idea of how sensitive I am
these days.

It's a limitation of my monitor then. Still, only applies to Hexic and
the like so it's not a big deal. Unless... will Rez be 1080?
