For those of you who might be interested in ClubFloyd, but who don't
spend much time on ifMUD, I've set up an RSS feed at
http://www.allthingsjacq.com/cf-feed.xml
The feed will announce when game transcripts are posted, what game has
been scheduled for the next week, and any other ClubFloyd-related news
(such as the occasional hiatus). It'll be 1-2 updates per week,
nothing too busy.
If you don't frequent ifMUD very often, you can use the feed to keep
an eye on what's going on, what we're playing, etc., and if we're
playing a game that interests you and you're free that day, you can
join us. Games happen on Sundays, and are presently scheduled for 2pm
EST, 7pm GMT on ifMUD in the Toyshop & Floyditorium (after you log on,
just type "toyshop" and you'll find yourself in the right place).
Next week's game, on January 4, 2009, will be The Cove, by Kathleen M.
Fischer.
You can find more information on ClubFloyd at the ifWiki at
http://www.ifwiki.org/index.php/ClubFloyd
If you'd like to suggest a game for us to play, after which we will
post a shiny, fully-commented transcript (over fifty past transcripts
are online at
http://www.allthingsjacq.com/interactive_fiction.html#clubfloyd
), just e-mail me at jacqueline.a.lott.TakeThisOut@gmail.com and I'll add your
game to the list if it fits the criteria. Good ClubFloyd games should
take about two hours to play (though we break that rule occasionally),
and absolutely must be programmed in Hugo, AGT, Inform, or TADS (2 or
3) so that they'll play on our bot, Floyd. Floyd can't display status
bars or images, so if those are essential to a game, that can be an
issue. We did, however, recently play Nightfall and Everybody Dies
without too many issues.
Thanks, and hope to see some of you at a future game session.
