ATI x1050 vs x1550?

When I upgraded my parent's computers last summer, I put in ATI x1050
pcie video cards.

The last several weeks, my dad's computer was acting up, and I decided
the problem was the video card. I got a x1550, Diamond branded, to
put in place, thinking it was the same card. I realized my mistake
when I pulled the old card out and saw it said x1050.

My question, did I upgrade, downgrade, or are the cards pretty much
the same?
