Well, I saw 300 the other day, and I'm still undecided on whether or not
I liked it. On the one hand, it was an age of Heroes and Monsters. On
the other hand, they didn't need to change it into the WWF Freakshow of
the middle east. Since when was Xerxes 8 feet tall, for cryin' out loud?

Anywho, what will this mean for Warhammer? A *lot* more Spartan based
Space marines. Probably more Persian themed Chaos hordes for both 40K
and Fantasy. I'm trying to think of who would be most likely to be
tapped as Spartans for Fantasy. Dogs of War? Empire?

Greeks of this era used spears and the hoplon. To make pikes and shields
legal, all it takes is a homegrown rule or one from the folks at GW. I play
WAB, Warhammer Ancients Battles, WFB4, and the pikes and shields work
fairly well. The Spartans are supermen in WAB.

Especially since they get historical armor and not "catachan" armor
(body oil and loincloths).

It was one of the "skills & drills" Gav Thorpe misplaced onto his
favorite site www.turkishprison_and_gladiatormovies40k.com
